This fabulous collection of artefacts has been put together to represent Jewish Holidays and Celebrations. Each of the festivals and celebrations centre around important events in the history of the Jews.

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year festival. Simchat Torah (Rejoicing with the Torah) marks the end of the annual cycle of weekly Torah readings and the beginning of the new cycle. Hanukkah is the festival of lights. Purim is a joyous holiday that celebrates the saving of the Jews from a threatened massacre in ancient Persia. Pesach (Passover) is a major Jewish holiday that celebrates the Biblical story of the Israelites escape from slavery in Egypt. Shavuot combines two major religious observances. First is the grain harvest of the and second is the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai seven weeks after the exodus from Egypt.
